Kwaw Kese has launched a campaign on social media against the indefinite ban placed on Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale by the board of the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The board of the 2019 VGMA in a press conference yesterday, announced that due to the actions of the two dancehall artists on the night, both have been banned indefinitely and stripped of all the awards they won at VGMA20.
However, Kwaw Kese feels banning the artists will not solve the problem. This caused him to launch the #MOMAGA (Make Our Music Awards Great Again) campaign on Twitter.
He tweeted: “It’s high time we musicians in Ghana come together and fight for what belongs to us. Banning people will not solve the problem”

TV personalities, Bridget Otoo and Nana Aba Anamoah joined Kwaw Kese to tweet with the hashtag (#MOMAGA) and help create more awareness about the campaign.

Other Ghanaians on Twitter also joined the campaign and added their voices to the issue through tweets.
Here are some of the #MOMAGA tweets:
Banning artists does not solve the problem of you making poor security arrangements for the show. Should you have done that, all these could be prevented. The key was in your hands to prevent it. Make Our Music Awards Great Again

Not only do we need a great Awards scheme, we also need a stronger musician Union #MOMAGA

What can we show after 20years of Ghana music awards?
Respect musician's hustle and stop the boardroom mafias and "kululu" which even doesn't add anything to their talent #MOMAGA

sometimes minding your own business is good and helps keep one out of trouble, but sometime other businesses are meant for all. you can't start something crazy on Saturday night and just wash your hands out. you are part so help #MOMAGA

We hope stakeholders take Kwaw Kese’s campaign into consideration and figure out ways to really “Make Our Music Awards Great Again.”
Big ups to Kwaw Kese for taking such a bold step!
