According to a news story by the BBC, African countries will soon be compelled to choose between the US and China with regards to technology. This analysis comes as a result of Google’s decision to ban Chinese tech brand, Huawei from using its Operating System, Android in the near future. Technology analysts claim that Google’s decision could be seen as the beginning of a technology cold war which could eventually affect African countries.
However, Ghanaian actor and entrepreneur, John Dumelo see things differently and has come up with a great solution to this incoming problem.
According to Dumelo, it’s time for Africa to develop its own software. “They see ‘war’, we see opportunity,” the actor said on Twitter.
It’s the perfect time to develop our own software here in Africa. They see “war”, we see opportunity. https://t.co/uneNURTDMi

What do you make of John Dumelo’s idea? Will we be able to survive this impending technology “war” by creating our own software?
