Today, the Board of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards has handed out their sanctions on the Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy for the chaos they created during the awards show.

In a press conference held today, the VGMA board announced that both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale have been banned indefinitely from selection for future VGMA.

Also, they have been stripped off all awards won at the #VGMA20

The board also announced that the pop song of the year and the Artists of the year categories have been nullified.

Meaning those who won those categories last year are technically those holding the awards of those categories.

Also put, Ebony Reigns is still our Artiste of the year, Fancy Gadam’s Total Cheat featuring Sarkodie is still the Song of the Year, Samini’s My Own is still the Reggae/Dancehall song of the year, Kidi’s Odo is still the Highlife Song of the Year, however, Stonebwoy is still the Reggae/Dancehall song of the year – because he won the same category last year.

According to the board, they are taking this decision because going forward, they want to elevate the scheme to become a symbol of unity and that every artist who is going to participate in it must buy into the values.
