WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston To Arrive In Ghana Today For A Four-Day Visit

WWE Champion, Kofi will arrive in Ghana today for a four-day visit.

Kofi Kingston, in a statement earlier this month stated that he was coming back to Ghana for a first-time visit since 1993.

“For the first time since 1993, I’m going back to my home country! Though it was 26 years ago, I still have so many vivid memories of my last visit to Ghana. I’m beyond excited to make many more in a few short weeks!” the wrestler said.

Kofi Kingston considers the Year of Return as a unique opportunity for him to make a historic visit to his homeland, Ghana at the height of his wrestling career.

Kofi posted a photo of his plane ticket to Ghana on Twitter. “Here we go!,” he said.

Kofi’s four-day visit to Ghana will begin today, Thursday, 30th May 2019 to Sunday, 2nd June 2019.

Activities he will undertake while in Ghana:

Some of the activities the WWE Champion will undertake while in Ghana include a courtesy call on the President of Ghana, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Presidency. Kofi Kingston will also be at the Manhyia Palace to pay homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

Other activities which Kofi will undertake include a Children’s Rally, a visit to Tourist Sites and places like the Lake Bosomtwe, the Christianborg Castle, Bonwire and Ntonso, a visit to the Mother and Baby Unit at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and  He will also visit Ejisu and Atwiwma Techiman which are his parental and maternal hometowns respectively.

There will also be Media Engagements and In-Studio interviews.

Accompanying Kofi is the WWE crew who is currently shooting a documentary on the World Champion.

Kofi Kingston was born Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah on 14th August 1981 in Kumasi, Ghana. He later moved with his parents to the US and eventually settled in Boston.

Kofi Kingston became the first African-born WWE Champion after he beat Daniel Bryan at Wrestlemania 35 on 7th April 2019.
