However, it turns out that Agogo State College’s win was indeed too good to be true.
In a statement signed by Nana Akua Ankomah-Asare, the Managing Director of Primetime Limited, organizers of the NSMQ, the school had fielded an unqualified contestant.
“During the Ashanti Regional Competition in March 2019, Agogo State College fielded an unqualified contestant in their contest…,” the statement said.
“In view of this, the Ghana Education Service has directed that Agogo State College be disqualified from participating in NSMQ2019,” she added.
As a result of their disqualification, Tweneboa Kodua SHS which placed second in that contest with 25 points will replace Agogo State College in the nationals.
