Regular exercise is really important but wearing the right workout clothes is “importanter”. Why? Cuz they have a pretty big impact on your performance. Besides helping you get into the right mindset to tackle a gym session, they provide a host of other benefits as well.
Cotton clothes absorb your sweat and leave you feeling some type of way. Clothes made of spandex and nylon are light and breathable and they wick moisture away from the skin. Wicking is the ability to divert sweat from your skin and evaporate through the fabric’s surface. These will leave you feeling fresh, dry and comfortable during and post-workout.
The ladies understand this point. A well-fitted sports bra with great support is essential if you’re planning on doing high-impact exercises. Avoid the humiliating chest bounces and back pains, and stretching the supporting structures of your boobies.
Why wear clothes if you aren’t comfortable in them. One of the worst things you can do is to wear clothing or shoes that you aren’t comfortable in when you hit the gym. The wrong shoes will give your feet blisters. A sports bra that’s too tight will be digging into your back. And the wrong shorts are only going to rub against and irritate your thighs
For instance, padded cycling shorts can make long bike rides more comfortable and using gloves in the gym or while rock-climbing protects your palms from developing calluses. A good pair of shoes cushion your feet from high-impact exercises or heavy-landings.
Protection from the environment
Wearing a cap helps shield your face from the glare and sun rays. Layering up when exercising outdoors especially on cold mornings may be a good idea to prevent you from getting cold. When it’s hot, loose clothing and breathable fabrics are necessary so you’re cool and don’t overheat.
