Early today, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were arraigned in a plea and bail hearing for their actions during the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
The two award-winning dancehall musicians have been charged with issuing threats and using abusive words with the intent to disturb public peace. Meanwhile, Stonebwoy is facing another count of publicly displaying an Australian gun INFK 158 with butt number AA792002017.

When the two accused persons were asked to enter their plea, both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale pled not guilty to the charges – this means that they are both going to trail to prove their innocence.
The magistrate, Isaac Addo, who presided over the court today also rejected Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale’s request of self-recognisance bail and decided to set their bail condition at 50,000 cedis each with one surety.
Their lawyers had requested for the self-recognisance bail arguing that both Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale were known figures in the music industry and would avail themselves for the trial.
Though prosecutors did not oppose the request for bail, they asked the court to let the two artistes to sign a bond to be of good behaviour.
Isaac Addo, after imposing the GHS 100,000 bail amount asked to two stars to be of good behaviour and desist from actions that might be prejudicial of the case.
Stonebwoy and Shatt Wale are due in court again on June 20.
