WIUC: A Rare Combination Of Beauty And Brains; Meet The Newly Elected SRC Vice President

Miss Lareba Habiba Zakari, the SRC Vice President-elect of Wisconsin International University College-Ghana was born in Accra on 23rd May 1990. She is the third born out of four (4) children to Mr Salifu Zakari and Mad. Elizabeth Eminsang.

She had her early education in Good Hope School and continued in Kwashieman ‘1’ Basic and Junior High School. She furthered her education in Odorgonnor Senior High School where she studied Business and completed in May 2011. She also took short courses which include Diploma in Ticketing and Reservations in 2012 at International School of Aviation. She as well gained a Diploma in Business I.T at I.P.M.C in 2015 and a Diploma in Marketing at Meridian Pre-University in July 2016. Later in 2016, Miss Lareba joined Wisconsin Int. University College to pursue her first degree in BBS Accounting where she is in her third year currently.

She was appointed to be the class representative of the Accounting class at the start of her second year at this University. In 2018, still in her second year, she joined the search for the face of this enviable institution as part of the contestants in a beauty pageant called Miss Wisconsin. Even though she wasn’t crowned the winner, she won two awards; Miss Talent and Miss Congeniality (Sociable). Due to her immense interest in probing academically to add to her knowledge and make her school proud, she took up the challenge to be part of the Graphic Business Sense Challenge between 16 schools where Wisconsin ended up with the 2nd position thus, she is one of the four who was awarded a full scholarship by the Chancellor, for the rest of her degree programme and 30% scholarship if she chooses to do her Master’s degree in Wisconsin.

Due to her versatility and her ability to take up positions and deliver duly, she was recommended to Kwame Raj Dzakpasu as his running mate when he decided to aspire for the position of SRC President-Wiuc whereby, they emerged winners at the end of the elections.

She aspires to be an Auditor and an entrepreneur of various ventures as well as Advocate for Women. She also believes that ‘Education is the Key’ and so greater resources should be channelled into attaining befitting Classes before leaving school. And these can be achieved through quizzes, research, extensive learning, among others.
