“The Burial of Kojo” has been listed on the New Yorker as one of the best movies of 2019 so far.
“The Burial of Kojo” was however in good company as it was listed alongside great movies like Jordan Peele’s “Us”, “The Gospel of Eureka”, and “High Flying Bird”.
The movie which was written, directed and produced by Ghanaian rapper, Blitz The Ambassador has been praised by many for its awesome production. It has also had a lot of great reviews on some international online portals.
Aside from being named as one of the best movies of 2019 so far on the New Yorker, “The Burial of Kojo” has had a lot of international recognition since it was released in 2018.
A few weeks ago, the movie won the Grand Prize for Best Narrative Feature at the Luxor African Film Festival in Egypt.
“The Burial of Kojo” is also the first Ghanaian movie to be premiered on the popular movie streaming site Netflix. It started premiering on Netflix on 31st March 2019.
The movie was first premiered in August 2018 at the AMC Empire Theatre in Times Square, New York City, as part of the Urban World Film Festival presented by HBO.
“The Burial of Kojo” was co-produced by actress Ama K Abebrese and Kwaku Obeng Boateng.
