We were at the Live Wyred Concert on Saturday at the Cleaver House and…we definitely are impressed with the way the show turned out! The Brandmeister team have proven again that they are meisters at anything!!
When you hear ‘live show’, you usually think of some high life things with seats, drinks and a relaxed atmosphere; never really a concert with rappers and afrobeats artistes and other genres mixed up in a melange of shocking goodness. We won’t lie, the late start of the show and the bad parking space aside, the experience was amazing!
We absolutely loved the way all the artistes performed well within time and it was so obvious each artiste had put in time and effort to prepare well. No one dragged their time on stage, no one had to rush through their set or get ‘sacked’ off stage, everything went as it should, clearly expertly orchestrated.
It was thrilling the way the performances went! Ria Boss is, by all means, a skilled performer, Ogranya is an amazing Nigerian singer with such a unique and lovable style and… can Joey B keep crooning sweet songs to us all the time?? cos we love it!!! B4Bonah’s energy…The surprise performances from La meme gang and Pappy Kojo had us ripping our hair out!
Teni’s performance was something else. You don’t always see an artiste connect with a crowd the way she did. Like, she didn’t just sing…she performed and drew everyone in the only way an artiste who puts her heart and soul in everything she does can!
The band !!! The Afro Harmony band !!! To be honest, the Afro Harmony band is the best thing that happened all night!!!! Definitely, the glue that held the whole show together!
And the DJ!! DJ Putin! He shut down the place! There was no boring pause, no rushing through his sets…he controlled the crowd expertly and worked seamlessly with the MC, Jaden.
See, the whole show was like a harmonious choral set…everything fell in place and worked together to give everyone the best live music show ever!!!
Live Wyred should happen more times every month to be very honest.
