Ghanaian Senior High Schools Are Doing Amazing Stuff! Students Of Sekyedumase SHTS Have Built A Touch-Less Dustbin

Science students in the Senior High Schools of Ghana are doing an amazing job when it comes to technology and innovation.

Earlier this week we reported that students of G.S.T.S have built robots that can evacuate earthquake victims in the shortest possible time.

Now, students of Sekyedumase SHTS have also built a Touch-less Dustbin. The Touch-less Bin is made with an ultrasonic motion sensor, servo motor and Arduino.

The lid of the bin opens when an individual gets close, allowing the person to drop the item he/she wants to dispose and the bin closes.

The students of Sekyedumase SHTS displayed this invention during a Scitech Fair in Kumasi organised by the National Science and Maths Quiz.

The students of Sekyedumase SHTS also built a Programmable Lawn Slasher which can be programmed to slash lawns without someone directly handling it. The Lawn Slasher is built with a PVC pipe, battery and a Bluetooth device.

We hope that the government will support these students to improve on their inventions and make them better for the nation’s benefit.

We shouldn’t sleep on these geniuses…

Great job guys…Keep it up!
