No Need To Keep Reapplying Your Lipstick. Here Are Tips To Make Your Lipstick Last Longer!

Applying lipstick can take you from 0-100 real quick, but what’s annoying is you having to reapply it over and over again during the day. Yep… we’ve all been there and so we can attest to how infuriating it is, but not to worry. We’ve got some solutions up our sleeves that we know would save the situation.

1. Exfoliate your lips

This can be done using a scrub, gently scrubbing your lips with a damp toothbrush or even applying toothpaste unto your lips for about 10sec before wiping it off with a damp cloth. This helps get rid of all the dead skin sitting on top of your lips that prevents the lipstick from sinking in and also ensures that the lipstick doesn’t get stuck to any dry patches.

2. Line Your Lips

Final Lip

Use a liner in the same shade as your lipstick and sharpen it as much as possible. You need to do this is because lip liners tend to be longer wearing than lipsticks. They tend to be drier and more matte to give you more grip on the lip.

3. Get A Lip Primer

Apply the primer on the lips before applying your lipstick. They are specially designed to help the colour of the lipstick adhere to the lips and lets it last longer.

If you do not have a proper primer, you can use a lip balm. Try to use one with a waxy consistency, not the slippery or oily one cuz that one will keep moving the lipstick around.

4.  Blot The Lipstick With A Tissue

Using a folded tissue, open your mouth and place it between your upper and lower lips, then press down on the tissue. This removes any excess product and keeps lipstick from transferring onto your teeth or clothing.

5. Set With Translucent Powder

Once you have applied lipstick, take a thin piece of tissue and place it directly over the lips. Once this is done, take a brush with translucent setting powder and dab it directly over the lip area. This process ensures all the excess lipstick is blotted away and the translucent powder sets the lipstick.
