We Keep Driving Ourselves To The Grave. Check Out The Everyday Things We Do To Our Bodies Which Are Dangerous To Our Health!

These days it seems like just about anything is bad for your health. You go to the gym regularly and eat healthily but charley still! There are still simple things we do daily which keeps pushing us further and further to our graves.

1. Using Smartphones Before Bedtime

The blue light emitted by screens on cell phones, computers, tablets, and televisions restrains the production of melatonin, the hormone that controls your sleep/wake cycle or circadian rhythm. Reducing melatonin makes it harder to fall and stay asleep.

2. Dangerously Skinny “Skinny Jeans”

Although they are fashion-forward, skinny jeans can be damaging to the nerves. When worn too tightly you can compress your lateral femoral cutaneous nerve and get meralgia paraesthetica, a condition with symptoms that include numbness, stinging pain, heat sensitivity, and atrophied tissue.

3. Sitting

Yes, you read right. Sitting for too long has become somewhat as deadly as smoking. We are sitting ourselves to our death. Frequent bouts of movements such as getting up and moving throughout the day doing light exercise are very necessary. Just because you get your workout in at 6a.m. doesn’t mean you’re fine sitting the rest of the day. The two are not mutually exclusive.

4. Wearing the wrong shoes

A bad pair of shoes doesn’t just lead to foot pain, it can also cause problems throughout your body. Your feet are the foundation of your body, and if they’re not properly supported you can have problems anywhere from the bottom of your feet up through your neck. Choose your footwear wisely—if you have a long commute on foot, find a good pair of walking shoes that best mimics barefoot walking, then put your dress shoes on at the office.

5. Holding in your sneeze

When we close our mouths and pinch our noses in an effort to prevent a sneeze, our intracranial pressure increases significantly. The blood flow to our brains is disrupted, and our blood vessels and nervous tissue are compressed. This can lead to headaches, damage to vessels, and even hearing problems. Never stop yourself from sneezing.  The risk of a hearing loss injury due to holding a sneeze is low. However, it is not impossible.

6. Staying indoors is killing your libido

If you’ve been recently feeling less freaky, it might probably be due to you staying indoors. Once you keep staying indoors, you start to lack Vitamin D. Low levels of this Vitamin can cause low estrogen and low testosterone in both females and males respectively leading to a low sex drive.

We hope that if you’ve been doing any of the points listed above, you try to stop.
