When great Ghanaian minds show up on the world’s stage, they are counted among the very best the world has to offer.
We’ve told y’all about a lot of Ghanaians who are not only making the impossible happen in this country but they have gone out there into the world and they are turning themselves into the geniuses that they were always meant to be.
Today, we’re going to tell you about this amazing group of young Ghanaians who are holding us down on the global stage.

That awesome idea pushed them to join the selective few of teams that progressed to the Round Two stage of the competition.
The competition, which was designed by Airbus in partnership with UNESCO, challenges students worldwide to innovate for the future of aerospace.

The 2019 competition is focused on using the latest digital technologies to create smart solutions for a safer, cleaner and better-connected world.
The great idea this young Ghanaian team generated is aimed at developing an application called ASPORIA which is expected to bring a creative way to make air travel hustle free.
“You can preorder meals when booking tickets pay for your hotel and have access to real-time navigation when you reach your destination, without anyone’s assistance,” Team
It’s literally a one stop shop for everything related to travel at your finger tips, how exciting.
“Like banks, customers and payment platforms,
Those expected to utilise the ASPORIA platform include “passengers, airport security, airlines, business centres in the airport, lounges, shops, consulates and immigration border controls.”
“Our software is erasing the use of every paper document usage. One won’t even need to carry a passport or show a visa to any immigration personnel. Everything is going to run on the software,” Team ASPORIA added.
That’s not all, to reduce the laborious task of going through security checks, they have also “designed a new security box that is way efficient and faster than existing ones. To make it more fun, you don’t even need to take off your carry-on luggage, jackets, etc whenever you get to the security check. Just walk right through.”

Currently based in China, Team Asporia is now one of 51 teams representing 47 nationalities that will be battling it out in Round 2 of the competition.
They started the competition with 2,200 students, from 72 countries forming a total of 270 teams.
The competition involves three progressively competitive and challenging rounds concluding a live final.
Afterwards, the teams, hopefully including Team ASPORIA, will have exclusive access to Airbus innovation and R&D facilities as they prepare their pitch to a high powered jury.
Up to 6 finalist teams will present their ideas to a Jury of Airbus and industry experts at the Airbus HQ, Leiden, Netherlands, for a chance to win a share of the €45,000 (GHS 250,00) prize fund to take their idea forward within the industry.
Airbus is an European aerospace corporation which designs, manufactures and sells civil and military aerospace products worldwide. It is one of the leading companies that build commercial aircrafts, defence and spacecrafts as well as Helicopters.
Congrats to Team ASPORIA for being the first Ghanaian team to reach the Round Two Stage of the Airbus Fly Your Ideas Competition.
Now, it’s time to go for gold.
We wish you guys the best of luck!
