In the first week of the year, there were reports that the government has given Kantanka Automobile a 10-year tax break.
This was supposed to serve as an incentive to the car manufacturing company and help them cut down on cost.
However, in an interview with Kuulpeeps, the CEO of Kantanka Group of Companies, Kwadwo Safo JNR said the company and the government have not concluded the discussion on the tax holiday.
Asked whether the government has given Kantanka the 10-year tax holiday, CEO the said the company and the government have had discussions on that “but nothing is concluded yet.”
Meanwhile, he confirmed that the Forestry Commission of Ghana, in line with government’s quest to promote the use of Ghana Made products, has acquired two Kantanka double cabin pick-up trucks.
We hope the tax deal with government goes through so that Kantanka vehicles become affordable for a lot more Ghanaians.
