Boxer, Anthony Joshua Awarded OBE By The Prince Of Wales

The Prince of Wales today presided over an Investiture at Buckingham Palace where many awards recipients received their awards.

Boxer Anthony Joshua received an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to Sport.

He is currently a unified world heavyweight champion, holding three of the four major championships in the sport.

Below are other award recipients:

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa was awarded a Member of the Order of the Companions of Honour, for services to music today.

Equestrian William Fox-Pitt received a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to Equestrianism, having represented Britain in the Olympics for over 20 years. He’s won seven Gold medals at the European Championships and has been the British No 1 eleven times.

Andrew Nicholson became an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to the sport.  Andrew has competed in six Olympic Games.

Former Northern Ireland Women’s Football captain Sara Booth and Welsh footballer Jessica Fishlock both received a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to football. Jessica also received her MBE for services to the LGBT community.
