Management of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) has asked their internal security to lock the gates of the Institute as it sacked all students currently on the premises of the school.
Today, some students of the Communication specialized school staged what they described as a “silent protest” against school management in solidarity with their colleagues who have been denied from writing their papers for failing to pay their fees in full.
The students, numbering over a hundred, arrived in school clad in Red and Black.
Although school authorities are yet to give an official response to the matter, the Students Representative Council of the school has urged the students to be calm as they dialogue with school management.
Scores of armed police personnel are currently on the school premises to restore calm.
It is unclear if the school will be reopened for the examinations to continue tomorrow as scheduled.
