The CCTV hitmaker, King Promise has accused the United States Embassy in Ghana of withholding his Ghanaian passport and not offering any explanation as to why that is.
The musician has already made international travels with his passport. It can be recalled that he has travelled many times to European countries and most recently to London to perform.
However, as the festive season approaches, most musicians will be booking Christmas gigs both at home and abroad and considering the fact that King Promise is now a big deal in Ghanaian music the offers will be streaming in.
Because his passport has been withheld by the US Embassy, King Promise cannot confirm any gigs that will involve international travel.
Those that have already been booked will have to be cancelled.
Simply, because until he gets his passports he cannot travel outside the borders of Ghana.
What is more unsettling is that he doesn’t know when the US Embassy will return his passport, as a result, he cannot even agree to future shows.
The frustrated musician shared the news to his fans, apologising for not being able to show up for concerts.
“The team and I have done everything possible to get it on time but still [face palm],” he said in a statement on shared to his Instagram page.
“Apologies for the disappointment but we have to re-schedule everything. We didn’t expect this but it won’t happen again, I promise,” he said.

He also added that promoters will refund all the shows he has been forced to cancel because the US Embassy is still withholding his passport.
We hope this gets resolved soon… we need King Promise for the Ghana to the world agenda.
