The National Counter Terrorism (NCTE) will hold a counter-terrorism exercise to test how the different security units are prepared in the event of a terror attack on the country.
The drill will involve security agencies and the emergency services including the Ghana Armed Forces, Police Service, Immigration Service, National Security Council, Ghana Health Service, National Ambulance Service and others.
Codenamed “Exercise Home Shield”, the drill aimed at harnessing the various roles and expertise of all the stakeholders in the wake of increased threat of terrorism in the ECOWAS sub-region.
In a statement signed on behalf of the Minister of National Security, members of the general public were advised not to panic should you witness any unusual security activity in your area.
Security personnel would be diverting traffic at a moments notice and you must cooperate with them.
