Akwasi Frimpong Secures Another Career Win: Achieves Highest Career Finish In A Skeleton Race

Ghana’s beacon in winter sports, Akwasi Frimpong is still out there grinding for Ghana as the Skeleton season continues.

After Canada, Akwasi Frimpong, who is now known as the Black Panther On Ice, and his coach Zach Lund travelled south to Utah, the United States of America for the 2018 – 2019 North America’s Cup Competition held at the Utah Olympic Park in Park City.

While there, Akwasi Frimpong topped his career-best time achievement by recording his best finish in a competition.

Out 20 competitors the boy from sub-Saharan Africa faced, Akwasi came in the 13th position with a total finish time of 1 minute and 47 seconds, just 3 seconds more than the winning time of the race.

He beat other competitors from Australia, Canada, Mexico and New Zealand.

This also goes to the amazing work his coach, Zach Lund is doing with Akwasi. Since he joined the Ghana Skeleton team, Zach has helped Akwasi improve on his technique which has started yielding results.
