KNUST SRC Tells KNUST Students To Be Of Good Behaviour As The Uni Reopens

The students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) are back in school after being asked to stay at home for 24 days.

The uni was shut down for 24 days following the violent demonstration by students who took to the streets to register their displeasure against a number of student averse policies from the school’s management, among them is the seeming authority given to campus security to beat up students.

After days of boardroom fights between the government and the various workers unions on campus, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II finally reconstituted a governing board that finally ordered the reopening of the school.

Yesterday students started returning to campus and lectures will reportedly resume on Monday, November 19.

However in a welcome back to school address from the KNUST SRC to students, the Kevin Sah led administration advised students to be of good behavior.

The statement asked the students to go about their duties and not be afraid of being intimidated.

“We appeal to all students to remain calm, composed, and go about activities without any fear of intimidation and also to be of best behaviour as the semester resumes,” the statement said.
