Ghanaian Man Reportedly Wins GHS 57 Million Bet But Safaribet Allegedly Can’t Pay

A lucky Ghanaian punter, reported to be called Morgan has won the biggest sporting jackpot in the country’s history after placing a GH₵220 bet on football matches with Safari Bet Ghana over the weekend.

According to sources who revealed to, the punter, known as Morgan, staked GH₵1 bet which each cost GH₵261,833.215, when added, will reach GH₵57million, after placing it on 220 matches across the English Championship, English Premier League, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga.

Morgan’s win has not been confirmed by Safari Bet Ghana yet.

But a source reveals to that, Safari says they can not pay for 219 of the slips so they offered to pay just GH₵261,833.215. Meaning their only paying for one slip.

From the look of things, Morgan has been able to beat the record of Kumasi resident named Kwame Fosuhene who arguably was the luckiest man in Ghana months ago after winning a whopping Gh₵990,650 ($213,278) from a Gh₵4 (86 cents) bet he placed on football games.

Fosuhene was said to have put his bet on 15 matches across the English Premier League, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, Spanish La Liga and German Bundesliga and the English Championship in Betway’s ‘Colossus Bet’ promotion to win the unusual amount on March 6, Ghana’s independence day.

The betting company Mr Fosuhene won the bet from was Betway Ghana. Immediately after he won, Betway Ghana confirmed the win. The betting firm originally did not disclose Kwame’s surname, but it was later revealed by Accra-based Daily Graphic to be Fosuhene.
