One of our favourite sports personalities, Akwasi Frimpong is out there grinding his ass off and making mother Ghana super proud.
Akwasi Frimpong went viral recently with his Black Panther-inspired race suit. Issa vibe, guy.
Now he is doing cool stuff on the ice track too.
Yesterday, Akwasi Frimpong took to the track and qualified for his first finals of the season.
He is also qualified by improving on his personal best time by 1.5 seconds on the Whistler Ice Track in Canada… trust us, when you’re gliding down on an ice track with your head first… improving a personal best time by 1.5 seconds is a good thing.
After achieving this amazing success, Akwasi took to Twitter to thank the Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation of Ghana and his new high-performance director & coach Zach Lund.
Great first race of the season. Made my first finals in the sport of skeleton & improved my personal best on the fastest track in the world by 1,5 seconds. A huge thank you to our federation @bsfghana1 and our newest high performance director & coach Zach Lund. Tomorrow race # 2 pic.twitter.com/B7pyVbJd6m

Akwasi will take to the track again today for race number two.
Before his career record run, Akwasi showed he had a few butterflies in his tummy in a tweet where he talked about how challenging the Whistler Ice Track was and how he was focused on proper execution.
Game day! The Whistler ice track has been challenging. My new coach,#ZachLund has been working hard with me on the fundamentals while going 130 km/hr. It will take time. My placement or time is not what is important but proper execution. Got a long way to go towards #Beijing2022 pic.twitter.com/DtVWnIVgPB

We aren’t in Canada with you Akwasi, but we’re watching from here. Good job and continue making us proud as you do always.
Inspiring all of us to try new and challenging things.
