GIJ: Ekow Plange Set To Release An Afro-Centered Romantic Novel To Support Girl Empowerment

Ekow Plange formerly known as Joseph Amoako-Atta is a literature blogger and entrepreneur and a Final year Student at the Ghana Institute of Journalism.

He is set to release his novel ‘A bride from Akuse’   which stands to be his fifth novel and first to be published. He describes the novel to be a tool for a social project aiming to change perceptions on gender in-balance.

This is an Afro-centered romantic novel filled with a bit of comedy. It is plotted around the culture and traditions of the Krobo people in South-Eastern Ghana. Explore how societal pressure puts a dent on young girls’ future in Ghana and many parts of Africa. Such issues and many others are exposed. Nonetheless, you have the chance to excite yourself with this beautiful story of a young bride from Akuse.

The girl empowerment project will be starting in October in selected rural communities in the Eastern Region.
