Today, Kuulpeeps Ashesi is giving you an up-close interview with the amazing lady with the electrifying voice, Boham.

Boham is a Junior at Ashesi University College, who is studying Computer Science. She loves to sing and write. She performed at this year’s Social Media Week Accra. She truly does deserve some accolades.

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: What is your stage name?

Boham: Lol!!! My name is Maame Efua Boham. But I go by the name Boham on stage.

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: Who is Boham? And what does she stand for?

Boham: Boham is a singer-songwriter and spoken word artist who attempts to represent the female voice in the Ghanaian art industry and to shed light on relevant topics that would otherwise go unheard.

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: What inspired you to do to music?

Boham: I’ve always been able to sing lol. And to write poetry etc. And one day, I decided to put the two together and music came out of it😂

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: How long have you been doing music?

Boham: Professionally, I’ve only been making music for about three months. But I’ve always had a love for music, performing covers at events etc for the past four years.

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: How long have you been a part of Black girls Glow?

Boham: I’ve been a part of black girls glow since July this year.

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: Congratulations on your release of your Black Girls Glow EP, Hermony. It’s an amazing album. Is it a feminist album?

Boham: Thank you!!! In a sense, yes. We had a general idea of a theme we wanted to put out there when we were making the album. The major theme was inclusivity, what it meant to be included in an industry, what “me too” meant to us etc

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: How do you balance academics with music, because they are both demanding?

Boham: It’s hard! So very hard! Hmm. What I did was to cut down on my course load for the semester, because Ashesi can be quite stressful. So I’m taking only four courses this sem. And so far, so good. I have enough free time to make it for shows, rehearsals etc. I also try to get my assignments done as early as possible so I don’t have to worry about them while I’m working😂

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: Is our wonderful lady dating? If yes who is this handsome gentleman?

Boham: Yes she is. The name is definitely going to be kept under wraps though😂

Kuulpeeps Ashesi: Thank you for having us. We really appreciate it.

Boham: Oh yeah! S/O to the entire BGG team, especially Poetra Asantewaa and Dzyadzorm for making this happen. Also to (please don’t ask😅 ), your support is what has gotten me this far🖤

Both laugh*

If you want to feel Boham’s soothing voice in person, do catch up with her this Friday at the Badu Lounge.
