We can’t deal this morning at all…
First, we heard that Shatta Wale has made history by selling out at the London O2 Arena.
Now, we are just learning that the award-winning gospel musician and Minister of God, Sonnie Badu has been recognized for his amazing philanthropy work by none other than the 44th President of the United States Of America, Barack Obama.
The Badu Foundation is a non-profit which is committed to providing quality care, education, and support to orphans, widows, and others that are vulnerable.
The foundation has been working to empower African communities to improve the lives of children orphaned and made vulnerable by complex, inter-related challenges facing Africa since it was founded by the music star.
“We have a passionate desire to help the people of Africa solve critical problems and build a better future for their children and communities,” the foundation has said on its website.
For this immerse contribution, former President Barack Obama decided to recognize Sonnie Badu.
In a letter informing Sonnie Badu of his decision to honour him, Barack Obama first congratulated him on receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award and thanked him for “helping to address the most pressing needs in your community and your country.”
“Individuals, the private sector, and government must combine efforts to make real and lasting change so that each person has the opportunity to fulfil his or her potential,” Obama said.
Sonnie Badu shared the great news on his Instagram page.
