The thing about alcohol is that it is a diuretic, which means that it removes liquids from the body.  This leads to dehydration that causes most of your horrible hangover symptoms.

Unfortunately, there are no solid hangover cures, but there are various ways that you can treat the symptoms to keep you going until you have recovered.

First of all, drink plenty of water. Like we said, alcohol removes liquid from the body so the most straightforward way is to drink lots and lots of water when you wake up. Also, drinking a pint of water before you go to bed will help to lower your dehydration levels before you wake up. Keep a glass of water next to your bed to drink from in the night.

Eggs are an excellent thing to eat to combat a hangover. They contain an amino acid called cysteine, which your body will be very happy to receive after a bout of drinking.

What Cysteine does is to break down the toxins that make you feel unwell after drinking. By helping cleanse your body of these leftover toxins, eggs can help you to feel better, rejuvenated, and more energized.

You can get an isotonic solution. Don’t think too far wai, an example of an isotonic solution is Oral Rehydrated Salt( ORS), a mixture of salt and sugar.

Another good thing to drink is fresh fruit juice.  Fruit juices are generally high in fructose, which is sugar that affects your energy as well as the functioning of your liver. They are also high in vitamin C, something which is often lost in your urine when you are drinking. You could try some apple juice, orange juice, or coconut water.

Eating ginger and brown sugar before drinking can reduce the changes of you getting a hangover.

Ahuh, before we forget, try not to drink a lot of coffee since caffeine can make you feel worse when you’re hungover. If you’re up for it, go for a gentle walk outdoors, which will speed up how quickly the alcohol is being cleared out of your system.
