GIJ: The Student Representative Council has Appointed A Board To Govern The Weekend School A Step In The Right Direction

A sigh of relief for the weekend students. The SRC in a communique started the appointment of these students to help govern the weekend school.

The weekend school over sometime has experienced some inequalities when talking about decision making. But this current SRC has make it a point to bridge the two to make it feasible to take decisions.

His Excellency Emmanuel Kumah pursuant to Article 7 of the constitution of the students’ representative council of the Ghana Institute of Journalism has appointed Ruben Tettey (Level 400PR-Weekend) as the Chairman of the Weekend School Secretariat. Mr. Tettey has served under various positions including being the former deputy chairman of the Vetting Committee and currently serving as chairman of SRC audit committee. Ms. Emelda Adjei of Level 400 Weekend will serve as his deputy.

Members of this committee include:

-Maame A.T. Brodie Mendes
-Anabelle Ayorkor
-Aisha Alabireh
-Eric Likem
-Dorcas Erzuah
-Benjamin Mensah

The Weekend School Secretariat, as part of its duties, is mandated to manage the affairs of the Weekend School and forward/address their grievances to/for the SRC respectively.
