Samini Has Been Selected As An Advocate For A Mandela Memorial Concert, Headlined By Beyoncé & JAY-Z

Samini

The award-winning Dancehall artiste, Samini has been selected as one of the global advocates for the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100.

The prolific musician is using his celebrity status to promote the Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100, which is to be held in Johannesburg on December 2 and headlined by Beyoncé & JAY-Z, Cassper Nyovest, D’banj, Ed Sheeran, Eddie Vedder, Femi Kuti, Pharrell Williams & Chris Martin, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage, Usher, and Wizkid.

Nelson Mandela would have turned 100 years last month, July 18.

To celebrate his legacy, Global Citizens Festival is holding this free-ticketed concert to mark the centenary year of Nelson Mandela, honouring his legacy in the fight to end extreme poverty.

And with such a worthy cause, Samini would not say no to an opportunity to advocate for it.

“I am so thrilled to be selected as an Advocate for such a historic event. As Nelson Mandela said, poverty is not natural. It is manmade and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings,” Samini said on social media.

Congrats, Samini.

We know you’ll do a great job
