President Akufo-Addo Has Directed That The Ghana Flag Should Fly At Half-Mast In Honour Of The Late Kofi Annan

The President, as it is right to do so has directed that starting from Monday 20th August all Ghanaian flags at home and abroad must fly at half-mast in honour of the Kofi Annan, the former Secretary General of the United Nations.

Kofi Annan died peacefully in his sleep today at Bene, Switzerland. His wife Nane Maria and their children Ama, Kojo and Nina were with him during his last days.

In a statement, President Akufo-Addo said Kofi Annan brought “considerable renown to our country by this position (UN Secretary-General) and through his conduct and comportment in the global arena. He was an ardent believer in the capacity of the Ghanaian to chart his or her own course onto the path of progress and prosperity.”
