
After 80 years of a life well lived, the former Secretary General of the United Nations and the former Chancellor of the University of Ghana, Kofi Annan passed away in Switzerland after a short illness.

The Nobel Peace Laureate has been a shining star for Africa and the world as a whole – there is no doubt that he will be fondly remembered in the halls of global power.
In a statement confirming his death, the family said his wife, Nane and their children Ama, Kojo and Nina were by his side during his last days.

The family also requested for “privacy at this time of mourning” and that “arrangements to celebrate his remarkable life will be announced later.”
