Unfortunate news reaching us is that 2 contestants of the popular inter-tertiary beauty pageant, Face Of USAG drowned at the Cape Coast beach during a photo shoot session as part of pageantry procedure, against the advice of the Dean of students of the host school (UCC, where a USAG Congress is being held).
As a result of high tides, 2 ladies drowned, Sara Kwarteng and Lily Ampofowaa Asiedu from the University of Education, Mampong campus and the University of Ghana, Legon respectively.
Trusted sources, through a phone call, confirmed that Lily’s body was found and confirmed dead at a hospital but Sara’s body still hasn’t been found. The incident happened between 7 to 9 pm on Thursday,16th August.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire USAG Executives, families and the organisers of the pageant and we pray Sara’s body will be found soon.
