Janet Amponsah became the first Ghanaian athlete to win a medal at the ongoing African Senior Athletics Championship in Asaba, Nigeria.
Janet won silver after finishing second to Marie Josee Ta Luo of Ivory Coast in the women’s 100m final.
Janet crossed the finish line in 11.54sec.
Fellow Ghanaian sprinter Hor Halutie, however, could not win a medal as she finished 4th with a time of 11.61sec
