Rexona finally closed their #BeTheNextChampion competition last night at the Lizzy Sports Competition.

The event which has been going on for the past few weeks finally came to an end in Accra.

Shadrack Adombila, a very skillful player from the Upper East Region came out as the best player of the campaign.

It was rather an emotional night when Shadrack Adombila was announced as the winner of the maiden edition of the competition.

The 18-year-old fell on his knees as tears rolled down his cheeks.

The event didn’t end with Shadrack’s emotions, there was a surprise for the night.

Right after Shadrack was announced as the winner, the coaches from Chelsea mentioned how impressed they were with the participants from Ghana.

For the first time, they went on to announce a second winner.

It was non-other than Alex Agyarkwa who is popularly known by his peers as Messi.

Speaking at the event, the Brand Manager of Rexona, Ms. Vanessa Kavi congratulated the winners for their outstanding performance and encouraged them not to sleep on their laurels. She wished the other contestants the best of luck in their search for a career breakthrough.

“These two young footballers are going to benefit from the ultimate football experience and we at Unilever Ghana and Rexona are happy to have made it possible through our partnership with Chelsea FC. (To the other contestants) You fought a good fight but we have only two slots on the Africa 11 team, better luck next time”, Ms. Kavi said.

The show which was hosted by Garry Al Smith saw a couple of known faces which includes former Chelsea midfielder Micheal Essien.

The winners of the competition will be joining other players across Africa to play against a legendary Chelsea side at Stamford Bridge.
