Going into level 100 everyone had the dream of graduating with a first class and finishing as the best student from their class.
Once in a while ( or maybe twice or thrice) we even dreamt that we were the ones giving the speeches as the valedictorian of our year group.
But advancing through the years, school just gets difficult and there goes your dream of graduating with a first class.
Now all you want to do is finish and even be able to graduate.
It, therefore, makes you wonder how some people are able to graduate with a GPA of 3.98.
Well someone was able to and her name is Abena Apraku.
The valid question now is ……………………How?
Well, chillax…you know Kuulpeeps dier we are everywhere. We had an interview with Abena, one of our valedictorians for the July congregation and this is how it went down.
KuulpeepsLegon: Hello. Good afternoon, Ms Abena
Abena: Good afternoon
KuulpeepsLegon: How are you doing?
Abena: I’m fine
KuulpeepsLegon: Congratulations!! You must feel like you are in Heaven.
Abena: Yes. It feels nice. I still can’t believe it.
KuulpeepsLegon: What course did study to be able to get such a GPA. Must have been an easy one.
Abena: Lol. I studied Actuarial Science
KuulpeepsLegon: OMG!!..wait! You did really great.
Abena: Hahaha… thanks!
KuulpeepsLegon: The way you just hit this grade dier, you must have had it all figured out since level 100 Or?
Abena: In level 100 I was just trying to adjust to life in school. I didn’t expect this. I didn’t think I could be here… I just wanted to get good grades.
KuulpeepsLegon: You mean you didn’t even plan for this? You scored all A’s in level 100 then.
Abena: level 100 wasn’t so easy. Some courses were very challenging but I sailed through by God’s grace.
KuulpeepsLegon: God huh? You are them spiritual people some erh?
Abena: Yeah. I couldn’t have done it without Him.
KuulpeepsLegon: Wait oo… We still don’t understand how you did it. A whole actuarial science? The complex maths and all! How was your daily schedule like?
Abena: Lol! I had lectures every day till I got to 300. I had a free day.During that time I’d watch movies or go for church programs. Of course I studied too.
KuulpeepsLegon: That’s amazing. You know how there are people who are so focused, they don’t have time for social activities . The nerds no lol. They don’t have friends, no boyfriends, just them and their books. Do you consider yourself as one?
Abena: I don’t think I am a nerd. I had really great friends but I don’t have a beloved yet.
KuulpeepsLegon: Cool….but some guys made advances at you right? In your class, in your hall, around campus. Because Fine girls dier… we know legon guys can give pressure paa.
Abena: hahaha…well I wasn’t ready for a relationship so I made it clear to them.
KuulpeepsLegon: Assertive much?? So aside lectures and learning, did you do other things?
Abena: Yeah. I was involved in many church activities. I was also a member of samaflem an organization that assists children to choose the right career by assessing them through the use of periodic tests. It was founded by a friend of mine. Besides that, I was mostly indoors watching series or reading novels.
KuulpeepsLegon: Great! So give us the secret ingredient to get this GPA. What were your study methods?
Abena: Oh I usually study in my room, sometimes I use music. I had a study group too. We discussed notes and tried questions.
KuulpeepsLegon: Insightful. It hasn’t been long but…being a valedictorian, has it changed your life in any way?
Abena: Yes! It’s been nice. I got to meet the Vice-Chancellor, lecturers, and professors. I’ve also interacted with people I never imagined talking to.
KuulpeepsLegon: You must be feeling lucky! Your last words for us? What advice would you give to someone who also wants to be a first class graduate?
Abena: Well I believe God is the main reason I got to where I am. So just to give your best and out in a lot of efforts. Study groups can also be very helpful.
KuulpeepsLegon: Okay sure. Thank you very much and have a nice day. Congratulations once more.
Abena:Thank You and have a nice day too.
