The Nursing school is a department under the Faculty of Allied Heath of the College of Human Science. The Department of Nursing has two divisions; Nursing and Midwifery.
BSc. GENERAL NURSING (REGULAR)
WASSCE/SSSCE APPLICANTS
Credits pass in THREE (3) Elective Subjects: Biology, Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS
FIVE (5) credits at O’ Level, including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject, plus THREE (3) A’ Level passes in the Sciences (Chemistry and Biology, Physics or Mathematics).
BSc. GENRAL NURSING (MATURE APPLICANTS FOR TOP-UP): Applicants must satisfy the University’s General Requirements for Admission into Degree Programmes. In addition, they must:
Be Registered General Nurses with a Diploma in Nursing
Be at least 25 years of age at the time of submitting the application.
Have a minimum of Two years working experience in a clinical area.
Applicants in this category must pass an Interview.
BSc. MIDWIFERY (REGULAR)
WASSCE APPLICANTS
Credits Pass in three core subjects at WASSCE/SSSCE level namely: Mathematics, English Language, and Integrated Science, and Credits in any THREE (3) Elective Science Subjects; Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Elective Mathematics.
A’ LEVEL APPLICANTS
FIVE (5) credits at O’ Level, including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject, plus THREE (3) A’ Level passes in the Sciences (Chemistry and Biology, Physics or Mathematics).
BSc. MIDWIFERY (MATURE APPLICANTS FOR TOP-UP)
Applicants must satisfy the University’s General Requirements for Admission into Degree Programmes. In addition, they must:
Be registered Midwives with a Diploma in Midwifery
Be at least 25 years of age at the time of submitting the application
Have a minimum of TWO (2) years working experience in a clinical area
Applicants in this category must pass an Interview.
BSc. MIDWIFERY (SANDWICH)
Applicants must satisfy the University’s General Requirements for Admission into Degree Programmes. In addition, they must:
Be registered Midwives with a Diploma in Midwifery
Be at least 25 years of age at the time of submitting the application
Have a minimum of TWO (2) years working experience in a clinical area
Applicants in this category must pass an Interview. This Programme is taken during the Holidays.
. BSc. NURSING (EMERGENCY OPTION)
Applicants must satisfy the University’s General Requirements for the Admission to Degree Programmes. In addition, they must:
Be matured registered general Nurses with a Diploma in Nursing
Be 25 years of age at the time of submitting the application.
Have a minimum of TWO (2) years working Experience in a clinical area.
The cut of point for Bsc Nursing is 08 whilst that os Bsc Midwifery is 09
