Hollywood star, George Clooney was released from the hospital after suffering minor injuries Tuesday while riding a scooter on the Italian island of Sardinia, where he is shooting a TV miniseries, according to reports.
The 57-year-old actor and director had just left his hotel and was riding the scooter when it collided with a Mercedes near Olbia, according to the UK Telegraph.
Clooney was thrown over the top of the scooter after the car failed to stop at a turn, according to Carabinieri paramilitary police officer Albero Cicognani, CNN reported.
The motorist stopped and called for help, the news outlet reported.
Clooney was taken by ambulance to the John Paul II Hospital with a “slight trauma to the pelvis and bruises to one leg and an arm,” according to La Nuova Sardegna, a local newspaper. A CAT scan showed that none of his bones had been fractured.
His wife Amal — a London-based human rights lawyer who gave birth to twins, Ella and Alexander last year 2017 — rushed to the hospital after the accident, La Nuova Sardegna reported.
Clooney was later released but will require physical therapy.
