It’s summertime and we know it gets hot and we get to sweating, but this is the time to pay attention to your body, any symptoms, changes, and funkiness you may notice down there are not to be ignored.
These are the red flags your vagina does not want you to ignore during this summer:
If you are itchy, you may want to change detergents
The vaginal mucosa, just like our skin is sensitive to changes in soaps, body wash and detergent. The same sort of itching that can occur on your arms, legs or any part of your body when you change your skin care routine can happen to the vagina.
If you have pain while urinating
This is usually a tell-tale sign of Urinary Tract Infection. If you were having unprotected sex, a stingy pee situation can be a sign of an STI as well. Either way, it goes sis, please schedule an appointment with your doctor ASAP and drink a lot of water to flush out the bacteria.
If the colour or consistency of your discharge has changed
This could mean you have an unhealthy bacteria growing down there. Every vagina has some sort of discharge, however, if you notice a change of colour, you have every reason to question it. Any discharge that is green, yellow, or foul-smelling is more common in a bacterial infection.
If you are unable to self-lubricate during sex
This is another sign of possible case UTI, (Urinary Tract Infection) or maybe your body just telling you that it doesn’t want to have sex with that person sis, it’s not by force.
We want you to have an enjoyable summer, so please be on the lookout for any of these signs and stay clean and healthy.
