Mawuli School Beats Opoku Ware Senior High School In #NSMQ2018 Quarter Final Tiebreaker

We have an upset on our hands here, guys…

Our High School of the month, Mawuli Senior High has kicked out Opoku Ware Senior High School in a tiebreaker at the ongoing National Science and Maths Quiz.

Mawuli emerged winners of the Semi-Final qualification contest by beating both New Juabeng Senior High School and Opoku Ware Senior High School with 47 points.

At end of the contest, New Juabeng Senior High School had 24 points while Opoku Ware Senior High School and Mawuli School were tied with 44 points.

The students from Mawuli School were quick to grab and correctly answer the tiebreaker question earning them another 3 points.

They ended the competition with 47 points while Opoku Ware maintained it 44 points.

In line with the GCB sponsored Money Zone, an addition to the NSMQ this year, Mawuli School will receive GHS 940 cash prize while Opoku Ware and New Juabeng will take home GHS 880 and GHS 480, respectively.

This is the second time a school has caused an upset through a tiebreaker.

Tamale SHS kicked out Achimota School from the NSMQ2018 through a tiebreaker too.
