Technological advancements are necessary for the growth of a nation. A lot of countries have advanced due to this and it’s generating revenue for the government.
Ghana is faced with a lot of challenges and over time, various forms of technological advancements by way of the use of applications have become handy in the solution to some of these problems.
The MTN Apps Challenge was launched in 2013 to identify and empower local App developers who develop locally relevant mobile applications. It is also in line with MTN Group’s aim of growing the App developer community in Africa.
The Challenge alone disbursed about GHS 300,000 in cash (Mobile Money) to developers and startup founders who had worked hard to submit their entries.
On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, the MTN App Challenge 5.0 came to an end with a colourful event at the MTN media centre in Accra. On the night, MTN awarded all app developers who excelled and for participating in the Challenge.
Presbyterian Boy’s Senior High School (PRESEC), a secondary boarding school for boys, founded in 1938, under the auspices of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana won the SHS Mobile App Category and walked away with a whooping Gh¢ 15,000.
There was a tensed up atmosphere before the results were announced. The blue magicians beat Keta Senior High School and Edinaman Senior High School to emerge as winners of the category.
They proved their magic in the challenge and have added another achievement to PRESEC’s countless trophies.
