We have reached the part of the National Science and Maths Quiz that gets everybody on the edge desperately hoping for their school to win.

The stakes are very high and the emotions – so strong.

The first 2018 NSMQ quarter-final encounter was between Mfanstsipim School, Presbyterians Boys’ and KNUST SHS. The quarter final encounter had an added relevance this year.

Besides qualifying to the semi-finals, the GCB sponsored Money Zone segment meant that as the schools picked up points, they made money as well.

At the end of each quarterfinal contest, each team’s total points will be multiplied by GHS 5. The total amount is paid to the school and each team member.

At the end of today’s contest, this was the result.

With that… each team member won some amount of money from GCB.

In writing one cheque to cover each school,

Mfantsipim got a cheque for GHS 1,000 and Presec and KNUST SHS got cheques for GHS 680 and GHS 40o, respectively.

Well, you can argue that GCB can pay more than that… but it is a good start nonetheless.

Good job to David Ansa Bel and James Owusu Appiah for leading Mfantsipim to a win.

Good luck next time to Presec and KNUST SHS.
