PRESIDENT CALLS ON STUDENTS TO HOLD ON WITH PAYMENT OF NEW FEES

Having re-assured the entire student body about the concern and empathy shared by the SRC leadership over the recent increase in fees, the President, H.E Kumah, has ordered that students do not act upon the new fees until further notice. No student should pay the fees until an official directive from the SRC indicating so.

This follows broad consultations by the President with key stakeholders. He has hereby obtained some documents and advice pertaining to the matter under discussion and has advised the SRC as such. The proposed fees have not been given parliamentary and ministerial approval.

In the meantime, the SRC is hereby entreating all students of the Institute not to pay any fees yet or refer to it in acceptance in any conversation, pending an official directive from the Secretariat.

The president continues to call on all students to remain calm as the SRC shall ensure that their interest is protected at all cost.

Signed

Naa Adoley Moffatt

GIJ-SRC General Secretary
