Pop star Michael Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, is said to have died of pancreatic cancer.
He died on Wednesday morning, 26th of June 2018 at 89.
On June 21, his son, Jermaine, told the Daily Mail, that he had been battling with the disease and was getting weaker and weaker.
Joe’s old age was characterized by a series of health problems. In November 2012, he suffered a stroke. Followed by another stroke three years later, which caused his daughter and singer, Janet Jackson, to put off rehearsals for her Unbreakable World Tour.
In May 2016, he was diagnosed with high fever, and also hospitalized as a result of a car accident in June 2017.
He is known to have been a stern parent, who used to beat his children. This was confirmed by the King of Pop, during an interview with Oprah.
Joe is survived by his wife Katherine and their children Maureen, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, La Toya, Marlon, Randy, and Janet.
