We love us some superwomen…
Bozoma Saint John is right up in that category.
She is hopping from one multi-billion dollar company to another with no sweat…
While she is doing that, she makes sure she carries Ghana along with her.
In 2016, when Bozoma Saint John served as a marketing executive at Apple Music, she played Atom’s “Y3wo Krom” at Apple’s World Wide Development Congress (WWDC). That was a major move.
But before then, Bozoma headed up the music and entertainment marketing group for Pepsi, where she arranged brand endorsements for the likes of Kanye West, Michael Jackson, and Nicki Minaj. She also helped arrange Beyoncé’s Super Bowl halftime show.
She was then hired as a senior vice president and head of global marketing at Beats in 2014.
Through all that Bozoma has carried Ghana music with her, whether in a subtle way or not.
Last Wednesday while Bozoma, walked on stage for a speaking engagement, the organizers played ‘Akwaaba’ the Guilty Beats featuring Mr Eazi, Pappy Kojo and Patapaa song.
She then took the opportunity to explain the word Akwaba to the Americans and also got them practice saying the word.
Damn… she’s got it.
This month, it was announced that Bozoma has left Uber where she worked as the Chief Brand Officer to become the new Chief Marketing Officer at Endeavour, a giant holding company that encompasses entertainment, sports and talent management among other things.
Meanwhile, the Bozoma endorsement is also another major achievement for Guilty Beats.
Already, we’ve got Janet Jackson incorporating the Akwaaba Dance in her 2018 Billboard awards performance.
This Bozoma endorsement is yet another plus for Guilty Beats and his collaborators.
