Last night’s downpour was really heavy and left several suburbs in Accra flooded. The Kwame Nkrumah Circle and its surrounding areas are known for floods.
After waiting for rescue support which didn’t even come through at 11 pm, Member of Parliament for Klottey Korle constituency, Dr Zanetor Agyeman Rawlings with the help of volunteers in the area moved women and children to the premises of Ernest Bruce Memorial Methodist and the Pentecost Church in Adabraka from the flooded areas.
Blankets, mosquito coils as well as hot chocolate and tea were served to each displaced person.
The MP left the premises at 3 am and at that time, the Sahara park was still flooded to waist-deep.
In a Facebook post, she thanked a Trotro Driver who conveyed victims from Sahara to the safe havens in his car.
You all made a difference.
You guys are heroes!
