The 2018 National Science & Maths Quiz was launched yesterday at the British Council and we can’t wait for the competition to start already.
The competition will be celebrating its Silver Jubilee this year as it marks 25 years since its inception.
Have you ever thought of who was the brain behind this great initiative?
His name is Dr. Kwaku Mensah Bonsu and he’s the founder and CEO of Primetime Ghana, the organizers of the competition.
Dr. Kwaku Mensah Bonsu once thought of the fact that birds could stand on electric wires and humans couldn’t. So he spoke to a colleague lecturer at the University of Ghana and they decided to stage a competition between Senior High Schools.
Preparations were made and the first contest was held in April 1993. The rest of the story, you already know…
Even though organizers have had issues with sponsorship in recent times the competition has been one of the best initiatives to hit the country.
This year, there are quite a number of sponsors who have made sure all participating schools and contestants are well compensated.
The 2018 National Science and Maths Quiz will start on the 11th of June and end on the 5th of July.
