Right after the Standard Chartered Bank moved a branch to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology campus, the board of directors of the bank held a motivational session at the Dean of Students Conference Room.
The session was dubbed ‘Stand Out.’
The name Standout was used in connection with the name of the bank, Stanchart.
Aside from that, the name was also chosen to get students to be unique and Standout.
The main aim of the session was to allow Senior Executives of the bank share their stories of how they stood out to higher heights in the banking sector.
The panel saw 4 Alumni of KNUST: Mansa Nettey, Yvonne Gyebi, Kwame Asante, and Setor Quarshigah discuss issues on a Career path after graduation, balancing work and family, and how to manage challenges during your career journey.
The session was moderated by Bossman and Sam Peprah, BPM of StanChart.
The panel shared stories of how they moved into banking even though most of them didn’t study anything related to banking in the early stages of their education.
Mansa Nettey encouraged the students to read broadly and have an open mind towards their education and career.
The programme was later moved into breakout sessions which was joined by other Senior Executives of StanChart.
If you missed the event, here are some photos from the sessions.
