#UGDecides18: Students Sign Petition To Protest Against Electronic Voting System

Yesterday, we found out via Radio Universe that this year’s SRC elections will be strictly conducted via the electronic voting system as was hinted at last year.

The main reason for this was… No Funds. Well, some students have taken it upon themselves to make sure the manual system of voting is used.

A group of students have planned to send a petition to the Vice-Chancellor to show their disapproval of the EC’s decision to stick to the electronic system of voting during the elections.

The lead petitioner has been identified as Sammy Doku. In an interview on Radio Universe, he claimed that there is “money in the SRC coffers so the EC’s claim that there is no money is NOT accurate”, he went on to say that he and his colleague have pledged GH7,500 and GH 3000 respectively to help the EC.

Interesting huh? Well, take this poll from LOPA Legon and let us know what you think too!! Remember the hashtag is #UGDecides on all social media platforms.
