The Students Bar Association (SBA) at the University of Education Winneba, Kumasi Campus (UEW-K) has held its 1st ever unprecedented legal seminar which hosted a popular Ghanaian Lawyer, Dr Maurice Ampaw.
The seminar which was dubbed “THE YOUTH AND SOCIAL VICE, CORRUPTION AND INJUSTICE, THE LEGAL MEMBER “, and was specifically held for the members of the students’ bar to educate them on the nexus between the youth and corruption.
Delivering his opening address, the President of the Student Bar Association (SBA), Yusif Sulemana, said that many of the students on campus chose to join the association because of their mutual passion for the law.
This he believed has helped them to come together as one and allow them to achieve their individual and group goal
He continued to say that this seminar will position students to meet the yearning desires of the law and therefore important to ensure that these seminars continue to provide the needed platform for introducing a new concept and refreshing the minds of students on the novel areas of the laws.
The platform was then given to the main man for the program Lawyer Dr. Maurice Ampaw. He said he is always overwhelmed when the youth yearn to know more about the law and its adjudications.
He advised the students present that they are all future leaders and that they should consider what they do today because it will hunt them in the future.
He elaborated on the legal terms and their adjudications and further said that “don’t always rely on it gift, it will corrupt you”.
