The word “bitter” sure doesn’t sound appealing to your ears, does it? It most certainly isn’t something you might think you’re craving, however, you would be rather surprised to know that your body actually does crave bitter foods. Bitter foods help bring balance to your body.
Below are 5 of the healthiest bitter foods ever, and why they are so important.
The name needs no introduction. Bitter leaf, popularly used to prepare soup in the eastern part of Nigeria, is now known to be a wonder vegetable with medicinal properties, which can be used to treat different ailments; it is great at reducing blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. It’s actually a bitter plant whose leaves, extracts, stem and bark are filled with vitamins including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B2.
